Accomplishments

• Architectural Review Board maintains character of Mission Canyon neighborhoods and provides recommendation to SB County on appropriateness of building and remodel projects
• Fire prevention - Annual Brush Cleanup Day - Fire Service grant to clear vegetation on main access roads - Evacuation plan and drill - Reverse 911 emergency notification system - regular coordination with SB fire district
• Represent Mission Canyon Neighborhood concerns in Santa Barbara County Planning process through monthly meetings with SB County - update Specific Plan - utility updates ....
• Community liaison with Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens and Natural History Museum to provide neighborhood input
• Improve access corridor from Mission to Mission Canyon - Beautification of triangle - Established Paseo Mission Historico to study pedestrian traffic from Mission, Rocky Nook Park, Natural History Museum - address graffiti problems
• Conducted Survey of MCA neighborhood concerns
• Provide communication to community through newsletters, special mailings and web site
• Land Use committee studies issues related to traffic, drainage, sight lines and other neighborhood concerns
